Pediatric Arteriovenous

Malformation Treatment

Description

This piece was featured on the cover of a peer-reviewed journal for a special issue on cerebrovascular malformations in children. The embolization with n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate or “glue” and subsequent resection of an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) are depicted. A cerebral angiogram in the background represents the role of diagnostic imaging in treatment. The child holds a blanket with scenes suggestive of a normal childhood after his treatment is complete.
